CAREERS AND TRAINING
Here are good opportunities for trade careers in Australian
RV-manufacturing industry. In conjunction with TAFE colleges, the RVMAA conducts apprentice-training courses. Government grants are often available to assist with these courses. The attachments provide details of the courses, and how to enrol.
The first course is RV Manufacturing. Apprentices - under professional guidance - manufacture real high-quality caravans; participants can see the real-world value they have created, rather than just making something, smashing it up, and then repeating the process. Each year, a $35,000
caravan is donated to (in turn) a State Children's Hospital for their own use, or for revenue-raising via an internet auction or a raffle. Many young people, who are not nearly as fortunate as the apprentices, benefit greatly from this program.
The second course is RV Servicing. This is a nationally-accredited training course, using e-learning, where participants after being assessed for RPL (recognised prior learning) can complete the program at their "own place and own pace
